Overwiew:
This unique wine experience invites you to explore the rich culture of Greek vineyards and taste the exceptional products they offer. Small wineries near Athens provide an intimate and personalized experience, perfect for those looking to indulge in flavors and aromas. The journey begins with a welcoming introduction from a winery representative, followed by a tour of the winery where you’ll watch a video about its history.
The highlight of the experience is the wine blending activity. Participants learn about the blending process and the tools used, while also tasting a variety of wines. Guests will savor 3 white and 3 red wines, noting their color, aroma, taste, acidity, and alcohol intensity. They’ll also explore herbs and delicacies to help identify and pair flavors with each wine.
After tasting, visitors choose to create a white, red, or semi-sweet wine blend. With guidance from the winemaker, they blend, test, and perfect their personal wine. Finally, they bottle their creation, design their own label, and take home a unique, personalized wine bottle to remember the experience.

Useful info:
Wine tasting basics:

What You’ll Taste: You'll usually sample a variety of wines—reds, whites.

How to Taste Wine:
1. Look: Observe the color and clarity of the wine in your glass. Tilt it slightly and check for any sediment or cloudiness.
2. Swirl: Gently swirl the wine in the glass to release its aromas.
3. Smell: Inhale deeply to take in the wine’s bouquet. The aroma can give clues to the wine’s age and flavor.
4. Sip: Take a small sip and let the wine linger on your palate. Try to identify the primary flavors (fruity, floral, spicy, etc.) and the texture (light, full-bodied).
5. Savor: Think about the wine’s finish—the lingering taste that remains after swallowing. A long finish often indicates quality.

Tips for Enjoying Your Tour:
• Stay Hydrated
: Drink water between tastings to cleanse your palate and stay hydrated.
• Eat Before You Go: Having some food in your stomach can help you enjoy the wines more and prevent getting dizzy.
• Pace Yourself: Wine tastings involve sampling several wines in one sitting. Drink slowly, and if you’re concerned about getting too tipsy, ask if you can spit out the wine rather than swallow.
• Ask Questions: Don't hesitate to ask the sommeliers or tour guides questions about the wines, the vineyard’s history, and their production methods. It can enrich the experience.

What to Wear:
• Comfortable Clothing
: Wear clothes that are comfortable and suitable for walking around a vineyard or winery.
• Appropriate Footwear: Sturdy, comfortable shoes are a must.
• Weather Considerations: Dress according to the weather (sunscreen for hot days, layers for cooler weather).

Plan Ahead:
• Reservations
: It’s a good idea to book your tour in advance, especially if you’re visiting during peak seasons like harvest time (late summer to fall).
• Timing: Tours can last from 1 to 3 hours, depending on the size of the vineyard and the level of detail

Etiquette for Wine Tasting:
• Don’t Overindulge
: It’s important to be respectful to others on the tour and the winery staff. Taste in moderation.
• Respect the Winery: Treat the space with respect—avoid loud behavior, and follow any rules, like not bringing outside food or drink.

Post-Tasting
• Spit or Swallow
: If you’re doing multiple tastings in one day, don’t feel compelled to swallow every sample—many tasters choose to spit.
• Take Notes: It might be helpful to bring a notebook or take pictures to help remember the wines you liked best.
• Enjoy the Experience: A wine-tasting tour is as much about enjoying the atmosphere, learning about wine, and connecting with the local culture as it is about tasting the wine itself
